Very Good Dessert

Serves 6-8.
Ingredients
- ½ cup butter
- ⅓ cup sugar (for crust)
- ¼ teaspoon vanilla (for crust)
- 1 cup flour
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- ¼ cup sugar (for filling)
- 1 egg
- ½ teaspoon vanilla (for filling)
- 4 to 5 pieces of fruit
- ⅓ cup sugar (for fruit topping)
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ cup slivered almonds, if desired
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 450°F.
- Mix together the ⅓ cup sugar and flour, then cut in the butter with a pastry cutter. Sprinkle in the ¼ teaspoon vanilla and stir in. Press this crust mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan.
- Combine the cream cheese, ¼ cup sugar, egg, and ½ teaspoon vanilla and beat until fluffy. Pour on top of the crust.
- Slice the fruit and toss with the ⅓ cup sugar and cinnamon. Arrange on top of the dessert in an overlapping pattern. Sprinkle almonds on top, if desired.
- Bake at 450°F for 10 minutes, then reduce heat to 400°F and bake for 25 minutes longer. Serve at room temperature.
