Dutch Baby

Makes one large pancake.

Ingredients

  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup flour
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Pinch of nutmeg
  • 4 tablespoons butter

Directions

  1. Place a heavy, oven-safe 10-inch skillet in the oven and preheat the oven to 425°F.
  2. Combine the eggs, flour, milk, sugar and nutmeg using a blender or whisk until smooth.
  3. Remove the skillet from the oven and melt the butter in it.
  4. When the butter has melted, add the batter to the skillet and return to the oven.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes, or until the pancake is puffed and golden brown.
  6. Serve with syrup, fruit preserves, powdered sugar and cinnamon, or whatever you would like!
